The RAM (Roller Assisted Mandrel) is an industrial wire bending machine designed to transform smooth wire directly from raw material into precision square coils with exceptional repeatability and efficiency. Utilizing independent horizontal and vertical straightening stages, the system removes coil memory before the wire enters ISD's precision roller-assisted mandrel forming process, producing consistent, repeatable results across a wide range of production environments.

Because steel forming is inherently a wear-intensive process, the RAM was engineered with long-term serviceability in mind. Rather than allowing wear to occur on expensive structural components, the machine concentrates wear on precision-machined, heat-treated corner inserts that are easily replaceable, minimizing maintenance costs and reducing downtime. Combined with industrial controls, a heavy-duty welded frame, and a safety-first design, the RAM delivers the reliability and durability manufacturers expect from production equipment. Standard Features


  • Replaceable Heat-Treated Wear Corners – Steel forming is inherently a wear-intensive process. The RAM was engineered so wear occurs on precision-machined, heat-treated corner inserts that can be replaced quickly and economically, protecting the machine's primary structure and minimizing maintenance costs.

  • Integrated Mandrel Safety Brake – Every machine is equipped with a brake caliper and disc mounted directly to the mandrel hub, allowing the system to stop the rotating mandrel rapidly whenever a safety event is detected.

  • Industrial LiDAR Safety Scanner – A programmable LiDAR scanner continuously monitors the machine's safety zone during operation. If a person enters the protected area, the machine immediately initiates a safe stop in accordance with applicable safety standards.

  • Recipe-Driven Operation – Store and recall production recipes through the HMI, allowing operators to produce consistent square coils by automatically controlling machine speed and rotation time.

  • Industrial PLC & Touchscreen HMI – An intuitive touchscreen interface provides access to recipes, machine status, alarms, sensor diagnostics, and operating modes, simplifying operation and troubleshooting.

  • Self-Contained Hydraulic Power Unit – An integrated hydraulic system with a dedicated reservoir and cooling system delivers reliable performance while providing convenient access for routine maintenance and service.

  • Fully Guarded Decoiler Assembly – The integrated decoiler is enclosed within AGS-compliant guarding and accessed through an interlocked safety gate, protecting operators while maintaining easy access for loading new wire coils.

  • Rapid Changeover Design – Production downtime matters. Straighteners were designed for quick, single-operator adjustment, while mandrels can be changed in minutes using a simple five-nut mounting system, minimizing setup time between jobs.

  • Independent Straightener Adjustment – The horizontal and vertical straightening assemblies are designed for quick, single-operator adjustment during product changeovers. While each straightener can be raised or lowered as a complete unit, every individual roller is independently adjustable and includes a position indicator, allowing operators to quickly return to proven settings and produce consistent results.

  • Heavy-Duty Welded Steel Construction – Built around a rigid structural steel tube frame, the RAM is designed to withstand the demands of continuous industrial production while maintaining accuracy and long-term reliability.
